Hold onto your hashtags, folks! At Zib, we’re super proud of our Head of Social, Rochelle Jones, who was recently a judge amongst many talented marketing specialists from APAC at the Hashtag Asia Awards. This industry event is all about celebrating the crème de la crème of social media marketing in Asia and Oceania and 2023 saw the addition of some new categories and entries from big and small brands alike, battling for their piece of the awards pie.
Assessing social media brilliance
Over the past month, Rochelle has reviewed and evaluated an incredible array of entries. From telcos and FMCG brands to retailers, small business superheroes and beauty and consumer goods, the judges left no stone unturned, carefully assessing each creative campaign application; sizing up their goals, strategy smarts, execution finesse and the results achieved.
Demanding immense dedication and a touch of genius from Rochelle and her fellow industry expert judges, the team sifted through a range of well thought out, creative and digital led campaigns, unearthing hidden gems and celebrating the very best.
Lights, camera, inspiration
Being a judge at the Hashtag Asia Awards has sparked a surge of inspiration within Rochelle. The vast array of strategic thought, research, creativity and connection to audience, reaffirmed her love for the industry and passion for pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. Here, she shares some of her thoughts on the experience…
‘Being a part of the Hashtag Asia Awards was fun, rewarding and a real testament to my love of social media and digital marketing.
We had a few weeks to go through a whole stack of entries, looking for people who didn’t just follow their clients’ brief but did so with clear objectives and goals in mind and managed to get awareness, engagement and action in their relevant markets by doing so.
The ones that stood out for me had used strong market research, identified a real gap or need for their audience and laid out a clear plan for how they would create buzz and drive quantifiable action that could be scaled through great social media and digital marketing tactics.
There are so many talented and creative professionals out there, helping to tell stories for brands that are looking to make waves in their industries and it’s really exciting to see all the thinking behind these and how it translated for their clients.’
