How to use LinkedIn Business Manager

Last month, LinkedIn announced that they would be introducing a brand new, centralised platform for business accounts, aptly named LinkedIn Business Manager. It will allow businesses and marketers to keep track of all of their LinkedIn campaigns, accounts, pages and more on a personalised dashboard and control all of their admin tasks inside the platform. LinkedIn has launched the platform in hopes it will make B2B marketing more straightforward and collaborative, especially for agencies who work with multiple clients. So, how does it work? Here’s the lowdown.

Getting started

Businesses will have the option of using one single Business Manager or multiple; it just depends on your goals and objectives. If it’s important for your business to gain greater global visibility, LinkedIn recommends using just the one account; multiple Business Managers might be handier if you need control over several accounts and pages. Any accounts and pages you already manage can easily be added to your Business Manager – or you can request access to an account to add it into your dashboard.

Managing people

With Business Manager, you’ll get full control over employees’ access to the platform. At any time, you can change a person’s Business Manager duties, remove an employee from certain accounts or pages, audit someone’s access to pages and accounts, or delete them from your business altogether.

Controlling ad accounts and pages

Business Manager provides marketers and managers with a cohesive way to view all of their ad accounts and pages in one place and make changes as needed. Within Business Manager, businesses can assign page roles, grant or restrict permissions to pages and ad accounts, monitor activity, set up billing information and more.

When will Business Manager be available?

The platform has already been made available to select LinkedIn customers on a trial basis and is set to be officially launched in the coming weeks. Experts warn that as with any new platform, businesses should prepare themselves for potential bugs and technical issues to begin with. But so far, even though Business Manager is in its early days, the UX has been praised as being straightforward and streamlined and trial customers have been impressed with how simple the platform has made their marketing processes.
